Is a manual ice crusher easy to use or shall I buy an electric one?

We want to buy an ice crusher for my brother who is not a professional bartender but loves to make coctails for himself and his girlfriend at home. Do you think a plastic, manual ice crusher is enough or shall we invest in a more expesive electric one?
