taken a tumble recently? ever wondered why you do it?
Whats your most spectacular story of falling off a horse? ever felt like you’d been through a meat mincer the day after? only yesterday i was reminded that everybody falls once in a while and, as i hurtled along the ground with my foot unfortunately still in the stirrup, i wondered why i did it, why try and jump a solid wooden THING a metre and a half high on a very green ex-race horse? Why? Well horsey people, why do YOU do it?
i have fallen more than 35 times and nothing could stop me riding. This doesn’t take away the pain though lmao
well i do it cuz i love riding and experiencing anything with horses… and its just fun and i know that i will make mistakes and fall off but i will learn from then and next time i will be even better than before and not fall off!
ok so here’s my funniest falls:
one time i was on this green horse who was like four years old and he didn’t really love to listen…. so i got on him and my trainer was like oh just follow the girl in front of you to get to the ring. so i went to turn him except he didn’t really listen when you turn him… when he wants to go one way he WENT that way… so instead of following the girl down my horse managed to turn around and start randomly walking.. i think he was walking back to his stall but instead to get there he decided to go UNDER the trailer (like the part where you hook the chain from the car to but theres like space above the ground) and so he had enough room to go under but of course i didn’t so i did the limbo a few steps and fell off sideways got dragged a few feet on pavement and then fell off hard on the ground laughing histarically…. everyone makes fun of me for that fall but i did like sprain my arm really bad and it hurt but i got back on and had the best lesson in the ring… well eveyone’s horse was really bad that day except well i got on a different horse and managed to jump the “triple” which was a really high jump for me back then but i did it suprisingly because he wouln’t stop at the canter and just kept going infront of himself.. haha but yeah those horses are older now i rode them since then but im not at that barn anymore so yeah but i always look back to that and laugh at myself for trying to stay on and do the limbo hahaha
oh and another fall:
i was on this horse that was A BUCKING BRONKO and i was like the only one who could ride him alone… so i wanted to get across the ring before the girl went to jump one of the taller jumps… but so i turned him and somehow he managed to buck NINE times across the ring and i stayed on till the very last buck and flew a few feet and landed ON MY FEET… of course i didnt catch him and he galloped away but i was very proud of myself… that horse taught me how to survive a buck in the worst of the situations haha
